GUATEMALA EL TAMBORBindle Coffee
Process: Fully Washed, Sundried
Elevation: 1,676-1,860 masl
This year marks the second season we have offered Guatemala El Tambor from the farm of Victor Calderon! Victor represents the fifth generation of coffee farmers from a family that has been in coffee for more than 100 years. El Tambor means ‘The Drum’ in Spanish: the name comes from the sounds of an underground river pounding under the ground on his farm, making a drum-like sound. This year's crop of El Tambor displays the wonderful characteristic of this coffee from last season with a slightly better balance. There's a bit of lime peel and spice in the dry aroma, and the first sips reveal refreshing crispness with mixed nuts overtones. A more refined acidity unfolds more lemon-lime notes layered with a fresh-baked brownie finish for a wonderful combination.
We taste: Plum, Sierra Mist, Almond, Fresh-baked brownies
