At Bindle we are always searching for delicious and unique decaf coffee. So we couldn't be more thrilled to introduce this fantastic decaf coffee from Ana Mustafá! This coffee represents another collaboration with LAREB (La Real Expedición Botánica) a collective of 575 cafes and Ana Mustafá, but the first decaf coffee we have offered from her farm! Ana's reputation for producing amazing quality coffees is once again reflected in this decaf coffee. Initial tastes from this coffee represent the rich boldness we expect from a decaf, revealing layered caramel and chocolate sweetness, and a smooth finish.
What is Sugarcane Decaffeination?
Sugarcane (generally grown on the farm in conjunction with coffee) is fermented for a period of time producing the byproduct Ethyl Acetate. The Ethyl Acetate, combined through a process with water and steam, is then used to quickly wash the green coffee and dissolve away the caffeine. Quick washing helps maintain the natural flavors locked in the coffee beans.
We taste: Fudge, developed sweetness, full-bodied
